Taxi Fleet Solutionscustomised solutions

Many taxi companies operate as a despatcher service and lease their equipment to individual taxi operators.

TCI has developed a number of features for the Tait TM8115 mobile radio that enable taxi companies to effectively manage their leased assets.

These functions include:

  • Voice recorder: the despatcher can leave a voice message for the taxi driver
  • Stun radio: the radio can be partially stunned (no transmit) or fully stunned (no transmit or receive)
  • Disable taxi meter: the despatcher can disable the taxi meter so that drivers who have not paid their bills cannot charge customers
  • Disable vehicle ignition: the despatcher can prevent the vehicle from being re-started once the engine has been turned off
  • SOS alarm button: the taxi driver can send an alarm to the despatcher without alerting the passenger.

Bus Radio Systems

TCI is establishing a reputation for developing bus transportation communications networks, in a market where widely differing solutions are demanded.

In a comprehensive radio communications solution for Dublin Bus' fleet of more than 1000 buses, TCI customised portable, mobile, base station and trunking equipment involving significant hardware and software developments.

TCI has also provided customised equipment for London Bus, who required a plug-in replacement for an obsoleted Storno radio. TCI modified the T2032 mobile radio to operate like the Storno radio, and gave it enhanced capabilities including an interface to existing network equipment.
