Hand-Held Control Head holds attention

Tait Electronics has released its Hand-Held Control Head (HHCH) for the TM9000 P25 range.

The HHCH has been released and has also attracted a lot of attention at recent trade shows, including the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) in Las Vegas. This control head offers the same set of features as the standard TM9000 control head and comes complete with a keypad.

The Hand-Held Control Head (HHCH) has been designed to meet three installation needs:

• when space is at a premium

• surveillance and VIP car installations (so control head can be stowed out of sight)

• high speed/frequent installations.

Tait P25 Terminals Product Manager Guy Hooker says the product has been built for convenience but, despite its small size, does not compromise on quality.

“Modern vehicle interiors consume more space leaving less room for radio equipment. With the HHCH space is kept to a minimum as the microphone is the only piece of equipment to be installed.”

Guy adds that a requirement for unmarked police cars and VIP vehicles is that the radio equipment must be kept out of sight. “The HHCH can be stored in a glove compartment, below a seat or in the centre console. A remote PTT and microphone can be installed if the user needs to use the radio without being seen.

“Meanwhile, there are some public safety fleets that have a regular car replacement policy, meaning they require rapid installation and de-installation of all car equipment. This saves time and reduces any damage a car may incur when a control head is installed.”

The user controls on the HHCH are identical to the 9000 mobile products.
