A Note from Sir Angus Tait - May 2007
MAY 2007 - Welcome to Tait Update! In this latest email newsletter from Tait, we’re taking a look at some product innovations, hearing about new contracts, and learning about how the company is improving its recycling.
This last subject is particularly close to my heart because I believe taking action on our environmental sustainability is vital for New Zealand and the world.
With its many plastic and metal components, frequent upgrades and high volume manufacturing, the Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) industry must play its part in minimising its possibly harmful effects on the environment. This is why the company sought and achieved the international standard ISO 14001.
As part of this world-recognised accreditation, the company is committed to continuous improvement of its environmental performance. Not all suppliers of PMR solutions are quite so ambitious. For me, it’s not just about ethical or competitive issues. Perhaps it’s my Scottish background, but I’ve always been uncomfortable with the idea of wasting anything!
From a customer point of view, we continue to make great strides in the public safety arena. In this newsletter, you can see how police forces are using a Tait solution from Minnesota to Texas, from South America to South Africa.
As we buckle down for the middle of the year, I wish you all the best for the next few months!
