MAY 2007 - When the New Zealand Ministry of Fisheries (MFish) needed a new radio system to help with special surveillance activities, Tait provided the perfect solution with Tait APCO P25 digital radios.

For MFish surveillance plays an important role in keeping New Zealand’s fisheries safe.  To keep sensitive communications regarding surveillance activities secure, the Ministry has selected a Tait P25 digital solution.  TM9155 digital mobiles, TP9155 digital portables and TB9100 digital repeaters form the backbone of the Ministry’s new surveillance communication network. 

Digital encryption is used across the new network to keep all sensitive communications safe and give the surveillance activities a greater chance of success.

For these operations to be successful, MFish will often work with other government law enforcement agencies for the desired outcome.  Tait P25 digital radios are compatible with police and customs radios, enabling the agencies to communicate together effectively. 

The location of joint operations can be anywhere in the country, therefore, network flexibility is a critical part of the surveillance team’s communication needs.  Tait provided P25 digital portable repeaters that can be deployed in any location that the agencies need to operate in.
