The summer heat of Baltimore, Maryland was not the only hot topic at the 73rd annual Association of Public Safety Communications Officers (APCO) conference and expo.

The conference is a chance for APCO members like Tait Radio Communications to showcase the products that are improving the daily tasks of our emergency service workers who require elite communication solutions.

Tait Radio Communications North America president Bill Fredrickson says the Tait exhibit had a continual “buzz” of consultants, police, fire, federal, state and local government officials stopping by to say: “we have been hearing lots of good things about Tait lately.”

“It was clear that this was the most successful APCO for Tait in North America for some time.  With the recent awards Tait has won for P25 Networks, Tait has positioned themselves as the fastest growing supplier of Public Safety Networks in North America.”

The Tait stand contained several new and exciting demonstrations including a live P25 700/800 MHz Trunking network as well as a VHF/UHF cross-band demo which gave an excellent look at the IP capabilities of the TB9100 base station.

“The TB9100 by far offers the most robust set of features of any other base station manufactured today due to its IP-based network capabilities, remote location monitoring, diagnostic, alarm notifications and re-programming capabilities,” Mr Fredrickson says.

Also in the booth was a new “Tait Tough” video which has an excellent overview of the TP9000 series of P25 portables and their ability to withstand punishment beyond the MIL standards by which other competitor’s radios are judged by. In the video Tait drops, dunks, bakes, freezes the TP9100 beyond belief and shows Tait radios are truly built tough.

The North American staff served New Zealand wine and cheese each afternoon during the show as a small token of thanks to our customers who have recently chosen Tait to design and build their new P25 networks.

“I am very pleased with this year’s APCO and the reception Tait has received in the marketplace,” Mr Fredrickson stated at the event.  “Government, public safety agencies, and consultants have been looking for an alternative and they are beginning to realize they can choose Tait for reliable, flexible and affordable P25 networks!”
