Battery performance is often overlooked when users evaluate the performance of a portable radio. This is why Tait has created a battery guide to offer guidance on how users can achieve maximum shift and service life from their portable radio batteries.

The guide explains how radio performance is affected by battery condition, how the user can achieve the best battery life and when replacement should be considered. Ultimately, Tait wants users to understand how they can derive the best performance from their radio and the battery supplied.

The guide offers tips to portable users on the performance and operation of different types of battery chemistry (NiCd, NiMH, Li-Ion and Alkaline), and helps users to select the most appropriate battery for their needs.

It introduces the alternative battery types available with Tait radios and how they each perform in respect of shift life, service life, charge time and temperature.

The guide is not intended to be radio-specific; however, battery options for each radio are available in the price book and brochures. Importantly, users will gain a better understanding of why Tait-branded batteries provide superior performance, and are more reliable, than after-market sourced batteries.
