Tait Radio Communications was chosen by Stanislaus County, California, to upgrade communications among the region’s public safety agencies including police, fire and emergency services. Tait’s network solution will enhance Stanislaus County’s existing interoperability channel, expand radio coverage through difficult terrain and replace equipment.

The upgrade to Tait’s system will also secure the primary radio tower and support the operational area’s joint efforts to respond to all hazards as well as day-to-day operations. The TaitNet P25 digital network solution was chosen after local officials identified a critical need to improve communications and, most importantly, enhance interoperability among agencies. Implementation has been scheduled to take place in phases allowing for the addition of future improvements as needs arise. Stanislaus County is located in the Central Valley of California and includes the city of Modesto.

The Tait suite of P25 products will be implemented throughout the area, with all solutions being fully P25 compliant and digital, analog and mixed mode capable with the ability to interface with radio consoles and remotes.

“The Tait TB9100 base station was the top choice due to its modular design which makes it easy to swap out sections of the unit without dismantling racks. The Voice over IP solution and the Tait design is the best thing on the market today, I don’t have to add cards, modems, Voice over IP interface and comparators like I do with other manufacturers,” says Kurt Kline of Stanislaus County.

According to Bill Fredrickson, president of Tait Radio Communications North America, the TaitNet P25 system was chosen by Stanislaus County as the best absolute value radio communications solution that is scalable in size and functionality.
