Tait has recently been awarded a contract to supply the Saudi Iron and Steel Company (SABIC – HADDEED) with a TaitNet MPT 1327 radio system that includes TM8000 mobiles and Intrinsically Safe portable radios.

In response to a high-level focus on health and safety within the organisation, the terminals required customised emergency functionality.

Tait’s Custom Integration (TCI) team fitted the radios with emergency call dispatching, allowing the radios to ring in a different tone during an emergency, so users can distinguish emergency calls from regular incoming calls.

Local Saudi Arabian dealer Timna performed the installation, which proved challenging due to the harsh environment and strict site installation criteria at the Saudi Iron and Steel Company mill.
