Ethernet Connectivity with TB8100 Base Station

TB8100 base station operators can now reduce their site and maintenance costs and enhance the remote monitoring and diagnostics capabilities of their base station, using Ethernet connectivity.

In an exciting base stations development, the innovative Tait TB8100 is now available with an Ethernet System Interface, enabling IP management of your communications system.

Tait Base Stations Product Manager Margaret Grant says customers with larger TB8100-based networks communicating over wide areas, such as those in the utilities and transport industries, can gain many benefits from Ethernet connectivity.

"Ethernet connectivity provides our customers with a cost-effective IP-based radio management interface. They can access their TB8100 anywhere on their IP network simply by using the Ethernet port on their reciter, and they are then able to reduce their site costs and support requirements by using IP networking technologies to more efficiently communicate with the base station," Margaret says.

The TB8100 Ethernet System Interface is designed for use with all base station systems, including paging, TaitNet trunking and TaitNet QS² Simulcast.

Multi-reciter format for TB8100

Another new feature now available with the TB8100 base station is its ability to operate in a multi-reciter format.

Up to seven reciters can be fitted in a rack (or up to five plus a power management unit) - ideal for voting, multi-channel TaitNet QS² Simulcast and other systems requiring independent monitoring and recording.
