Tait Radio Communications to Deploy New System for Jackson County, MI
Tait Radio Communications North America has partnered with Advanced Wireless Telecom of Farmington Hills, MI to win a contract agreement with Jackson County in southern Michigan.
Tait Radio Communications will provide its TaitNet QS2 simulcast network to be used in various public safety departments and agencies throughout Jackson County including police, fire and EMS. The county covers approximately 707 square miles.
Tait's QS2 system, part of the comprehensive TaitNet radio network range, is ideal for public safety organizations and other mobile staff spread over a wide area, according to Bill Fredrickson, President of Tait Radio Communications North America.
The Tait system will provide the saturation coverage to ensure all staff throughout Jackson County will be instantly available on the same channel and will stay connected in the most challenging working environments. The QS2 system also overcomes the biggest drawback of traditional simulcast systems - costly regular maintenance.
The new second generation QS2 system is now even more cost-effective through a simpler system architecture, which overcomes the need for several of the hardware modules required in the original system. The simpler and more flexible architecture means the system is easier to understand and operate, Fredrickson says.
