Virginia Electric Cooperative chooses Tait Radio Communications’ MPT1327 network for flexible voice and data handling
HOUSTON, TX (October 2007) – Tait Radio Communications, along with its partner the National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative (NRTC), has been awarded a contract by Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) in Fredericksburg, Virginia to engineer, furnish and install a TaitNet MPT1327 network solution. The network will be 22OMHz and will encompass five sites along with unique TaitNet redundancy features to assure network availability.
According to Bill Fredrickson, president of Tait Radio Communications North America, Inc., the TaitNet MPT1327 system was chosen by REC for its flexibility to handle the voice and data/AVL solution needs that the Cooperative required. With the contract in place, Tait expects installation of the system to begin in the fourth quarter of 2007 with completion planned for 2008.
