To become the world's most flexible, innovative and trusted provider of professional radio communications solutions - that's our vision at Tait.

We don't necessarily aspire to be the world's largest manufacturer, or to have the largest product range, but if you appreciate advanced, reliable radio communications tailored to your needs, we want to be your preferred supplier.

Our commitment to customers

We are totally focused on professional mobile radio. We don't manufacture consumer or industrial electronics.

Because we don't make cellular phones or stereos we are more committed to meeting your mobile radio requirements. We have a culture of responsiveness - taking the time to learn about your organization, and customizing the products or solutions to suit.

At Tait, we understand the public safety requirement to protect people and property, and the needs of other organizations to improve customer service and efficiency. We have an enviable track record of addressing key mobile communications requirements with innovative, dependable solutions.

Providing value

In addition to flexibility, we aim to provide value. Our premium mobile radio products remain affordable while meeting the most exacting world standards.

For four decades we have been a leading supplier of advanced analog mobile radio products, and we remain fully committed to producing advanced, cost-effective analog solutions. Our new 9000 series P25 digital radio range meets a whole new array of requirements.

We also aim to continue teaming up with selected business partners that complement our capabilities, to ensure we can achieve our vision of being your preferred supplier of tailored mobile radio equipment.

The Tait Structure and Culture

After 70 years in the radio communications industry, Sir Angus Tait recognized the value of a solid organizational structure.

Tait is a privately owned company. Sir Angus transferred the company shareholding into charitable trusts to ensure the continuance of his successful philosophies, such as the reinvestment of profit, local ownership and core operations, and the fostering of a successful electronics industry in New Zealand and North America.

These tenets have ensured Tait's success for four decades, and are your assurance of quality products and support in the decades to come.

Sir Angus worked to create a company charter based around two trusts: one appoints the company directors but receives none of the profits; the other has no influence in the company's decision-making but is responsible for the distribution of some profits for scholarships and other education-related causes.

The charter also outlines the doctrines that should underpin the company's management in the future.

Company culture

Sir Angus was very aware of the value of motivated staff, and has instilled a culture of self-belief in the company. Staff share a 'can-do' attitude and are motivated to make a difference. The reinvestment of profit, international success and generous staff welfare initiatives (group wide profit share, subsidized retirement savings, health care and social club, and a student loan repayment scheme) ensure low staff turnover and high morale.

At the heart of the company's culture is an understanding that customers' mobile communications needs differ. The company must be responsive to users' needs and must remain focused on the future.
