Quality at Tait

Tait has an enviable worldwide reputation as a manufacturer of mobile radio products of unsurpassed quality.
Our customers include major public safety providers, so quality is never compromised. Quite simply, lives may hinge on the reliability of our products.
To ensure consistent, company-wide quality we have the Tait Management System (TMS), an ISO 9001-based quality management system in place throughout our Christchurch development and manufacturing facility.
Tait has been a certified ISO 9001:2000 supplier since 15 March 1994. Our quality management systems are regularly audited by Telarc New Zealand and NCS in Australia, independent quality system certification authorities which are in turn accredited by the Joint Accreditation System for Australia and New Zealand (JAS-ANZ).

Tait Management System (TMS)
The TMS is an Intranet-based system ensuring consistent application of Tait's policies, procedures and standards. It is founded on the Tait Paragon, an internal document specifying Tait's direction and the company's expectations of all employees.
A company-wide set of policies and principles, the TMS defines all facets of the company's business procedures. It is based on the philosophy of continuous improvement and includes a Quality Improvement Database (QuID).
The TMS encompasses Tait's four core business processes: Product Generation, Order Processing and Fulfillment, Customer Relations and Management and Support Processes.
Product Generation
The company's procedures for determining customer needs, managing the product range and developing new products. This includes a structured New Product Introduction (NPI) process, based on concurrent engineering principles, with staged review and decision milestones, and planned verification and validation testing activities.
Our international design team uses the most advanced product development technologies including electronic and mechanical Computer Aided Design (CAD), Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Radio Frequency (RF) modeling.
Tait products are designed to meet stringent international standards of performance and reliability. Many are certified to meet environmental performance standards such as MIL-STD 810, IEC 68 and IP54. All Tait products comply with the necessary national and international regulatory requirements.
Tait also has an independent, internationally accredited RF type approval laboratory and is capable of performing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) measurements to international standards. We have extensive experience in custom designing, building and commissioning large scale conventional and trunked radio communications networks.
