New Tait Mobiles Offer Increased Safety, More Choice
Tait continues to expand its TM8000 series of mobile radios and invest in advanced analog radio communications with the launch of two new products - the TM8260 dual band radio system for the public safety sector and the TM8235 MPT 1327 trunked mobile.
With these exciting new additions, the Tait TM8000 range now offers customers more advanced mobile radio functionality and more choice than ever. The TM8260 will vastly improve users' safety and ability to cooperate at a time when US agencies face an increasing need for reliable and effective public safety communications. The TM8235 is a cost-effective trunked mobile ideal for fleets of all sizes.
"Tait has led the way in mobile radios for many years, and our customers can now choose from a much wider selection of innovative and advanced mobile radios," says Bill Fredrickson, President of Tait North America.
"This extension of the TM8000 range demonstrates Tait's commitment to providing increasingly innovative analog products and solutions, rather than focusing solely on digital. As a leading provider of high quality analog and APCO P25 digital products and solutions, Tait is able to offer customers the right type of solution to suit their particular needs," he adds.
The TM8260 public safety solution's ability to receive and transmit simultaneously on two frequency bands allows independent groups of users to work together with safety, reliability and efficiency at the heart of their communications.
The solution features two radio bodies that can be mounted away from the single radio head, and can operate across two frequency ranges so that separate groups of radio users operating on different frequency bands can communicate during public safety incidents.
"This is particularly useful for the likes of fire officers, police officers and ambulance staff working together during mission-critical situations - without a solution enabling communications across different frequency ranges, they often need to operate a number of radios," Bill says.
Public safety personnel using the TM8260 solution are also able to extend their communications range using the cross-band linking feature. Staff working away from their vehicles can easily communicate back to base through their portable radios, via cross-band linking in their vehicle's TM8260.
With its superior large alphanumeric display and GPS information service, the TM8260 can also provide safety-enhancing location information for independent groups of users working together.
Tait TM8235 - cost-effective MPT 1327 mobile
Tait has also released the TM8235 MPT 1327 trunked mobile, offering customers a choice in TM8000 trunked mobile radios to suit a variety of operators' and users' needs.
While the TM8260 is primarily aimed at the public safety sector, the TM8235 has been designed for fleets of all sizes from bus integrators to electric utilities.
"Our customers now have a choice of TM8000 trunked radios to meet their specific operational and budgetary requirements," Bill says.
The TM8235 features an LCD display and enables 3-digit dialing with large fleet access (0-999). 100 conventional channels and built-in CTCSS and DCS allow users to access a conventional radio network when needed, or when out of range of the trunked network.
Unlike many competitor products at a similar price, the TM8235 offers MAP27 data capability and Direct Connect GPS as standard.
With exceptional RF performance, rugged design and advanced technology, the TM8235 and TM8260 mobile radios have all the excellent features of the TM8000 range.
