Ashe County, NC to Implement New Communication Network from Tait
Tait Radio Communications in North America has been awarded a contract agreement with Ashe County, NC, to provide its police, fire and EMS departments with the TaitNet QS2 simulcast network.
Ashe County encompasses approximately 427 square miles in northwest North Carolina. Tait Radio Communications partnered with High Country Communications of Linville, NC, to win the contract.
Bill Fredrickson, President of Tait Radio Communications North America, says Tait's QS2 system is ideal for public safety organizations like those in Ashe County. The system provides the saturation coverage to ensure all staff are instantly available on the same channel and stay connected in the most challenging working environments. The QS2 system also overcomes the biggest drawback of traditional simulcast systems - costly regular maintenance.
The new second generation QS2 system is now even more cost-effective because of its simpler system architecture, which requires fewer hardware modules than the original system. The simpler and more flexible architecture means the system is easier to understand and operate, Fredrickson says.
