The São Paulo state police, one of the largest police forces in the world, selected Tait to supply six P25 digital radio systems.

A delegation of 14 officers of the São Paulo Police force visited Tait’s International Headquarters in Christchurch, New Zealand, for Factory Acceptance Testing and Training. The delegation included members from the Military Police First Response Unit, Civil Police Investigations Unit and Scientific Police Crime Scene Investigations Unit.

The Police were extremely impressed with Tait’s high quality training. They were also very impressed by the manufacturing, development, and systems integration facilities seen in New Zealand. Furthermore, the positive experiences whilst spending time with Tait staff throughout the week further enhanced the Police’s confidence in Tait’s ability to deliver world class P25 digital systems.

The six Tait P25 systems purchased are critical to improving security for the Police within three regions of the São Paulo state. The systems, totalling 12 sites, 120 channels and 33 despatch consoles, have been deployed throughout three cities;  São Jose do Rio Preto, Ribeirao Preto and Piracicaba. Initially they will service approximately 3000 police officers with future expansions likely.

The visitors experienced some of New Zealand’s unique rich culture, including a Maori Cultural visit and a classic New Zealand rugby match.
