The International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) tradeshow held recently in Las Vegas, has resulted in a flurry of mobile communications dealer inquiries for Tait North America.

Tom Wineland, President of Tait North America, says IWCE was a great overall success for Tait.

"We have experienced an enormous number of dealer requests, on a daily basis, since the conclusion of the show. This record level of response in North America is unprecedented in Tait's history."

Tait made its largest showing ever at this year's mobile communications premier event, which included many "firsts" for the New Zealand-based radio communications manufacturer. This included a booth more than twice the size of previous years, live presentations, dealer meetings with standing room only, a huge turnout at a wine and cheese reception in the booth, and the initial release of 'Tait Times', a Tait North America newsletter to be published quarterly.

Jerry Bradford, Vice President of Sales, says the product demonstrations at the booth attracted much attention at the show.

"With all of our activities at IWCE going so well, if I were to choose the one which generated the most sustained interest during and after the show, I'd have to say the product demos in the booth. At times we had so many people in our booth that you'd have to walk around the perimeter to get from one side to the other."

Recently launched products on display for the first time included the Tait TM8000 Series of mobile radios and TB8100 base stations. According to Mr Bradford, IWCE attendees were extremely impressed with the remote control and diagnostics of the TB8100 base station. Also highly acclaimed were the unique features of the new TM8105 and TM8115 mobiles, particularly the high-speed data capability and flexibility. Tait also previewed the dual mode, enhanced display TM8200 mobile radio, which is soon to be released.

Other Tait products such as TaitNet systems are also helping to create a steady flow of new dealer inquiries for Tait North America - particularly MPT 1327 trunked systems and the low maintenance Quasi-Sync Simulcast, one of Taits most popular systems solutions sold in the US and Canada.

The future also looks bright for Tait concerning its future in public safety communications. The company plans to introduce a complete APCO P25 digital product line, including infrastructure, over the next two years. The industry, especially fire and police communications officials, has clearly been looking for another reliable supplier in this arena, and Tait is now stepping into the digital market, says Mr Wineland.

"Even though P25 was developed specifically for public safety needs in North America, potential buyers of the technology know they can trust a communications provider that successfully markets its products and services in over 100 countries worldwide," he says.
