Tait Radios in Thailand Taxis
Date : July 7, 2004
Tait radios are a regular sight in one of the most traffic-congested cities in the world - Bangkok's Nakornchai Transportations Ltd uses Tait T2010 mobile radios in its taxi fleet to communicate with drivers 24-7.
Nakornchai Transportations is a taxi despatch centre, with 10,000 vehicles connected to its despatch network. The Bangkok taxi market is a highly competitive one, and the challenge for Nakornchai was to find a reliable, quality radio at a competitive price for its taxi despatch network.
Tait T2010 radios have proved reliable and flexible for Nakornchai Taxis. The flexibility of the T2010 allows a customised third-party options board to be fitted, which provides selective calling, voice recorder and other specialised functionality.
Tait Thailand worked with a local partner to develop a customised despatch system and a Selcall options board to meet Nakornchai's needs.Staff in the despatch centre can send voice messages to some or all taxi drivers on the network, via the Tait T2010 radio with Selcall options board fitted in the taxi, or can even render the air-conditioning or vehicle ignition inoperable (when taxi drivers haven't paid their bills!)
